Drift Prac 25-01-08

With the successful start to the 2008 drift season last night we were able to see a whole show case of talent new and old. The night started off a little later than usual as some changes have been made to the start grid layout that needed to be explained to the drivers. The response from the drifters was a positive one as the new setup allows for a better flow of cars and less waiting around to get some track time.

As always there was some carnage caused on track with everyone pushing very hard all night. The biggest incident seen was Steve causing some damage to his sil80 after saying hello to a wall with the front and rear of his car. Wez also had a bit of a mishap in the FC causing some carnage to his new kit and a certain champagne Silvia missing half of his fiberglass front guard and still drifting!

Well what a huge weekend this event was, big thanks to the Drift W.A. team, Collie motorplex and all the helpers and marshals for the weekend.

As always this event had a huge turnout from all around Perth and the south west with every man and his dog turning up to burn some tyres. Of course the weekend was not with out some casualties including my self with a broken steering arm (thanks to crazy imports for bringing me a new one) a type-x 180 needing some new rear lights, a fire in an engine bay and a over heating rotor.

The weekend ran really smoothly with a large variety of cars and driver skill levels making for some exciting close calls and some great showman ship from some of the more advanced drivers.

Well the content on this site has been added quite slowly over the past few months, and there has been a lot happening in the W.A. Drift scene.

I have updated the site with the latest content from round 5 of the Drift W.A. round and a lot of pictures from the Collie Drift Day.

Some pics from Targa West 2007 have also been added to the site and a new drift project added for Wezz who has big plans for his new FD.

My Project 1via should be going ahead at full speed now that the weather is getting better with body kit fitment, re-spray and manual conversion planned for spring/summer.

Hello and welcome to doadrift.com, this site has been designed to allow for drifters and friends alike to upload their media be it video photos etc with out the use of image shack etc. We will also try keeping the W.A. and Australian drift community up to date with all events running and results.

All of the content will be monitored by the mod’s of the site and any non drift/car related material will be removed from the site. The site is going to rely heavily on the drift community to contribute to the site so please feel free to sign up and add you’re pic’s, event information, videos etc.

Also a big thanks to Paul Richardson for the current pictures being used for the title bar. A links section should be added soon.
